APEX BANGLADESH FOUNDATION

HISTORY

Apex Bangladesh Foundation was formed on 12th February 1980 and was registered with the Registrar of Joint Stock Companies on 10th March, 1980.
The Registration number of the Foundation is S -700/35.The decision for formation of Foundation was taken in the 3rd Board Meeting of the National Association of Apex Clubs of Bangladesh held on 5th November, 1978. The National Board of Apex Bangladesh also approved the First Management Board of the Foundation with Apxn. Dr. S. A. Shakoor as Chair-man and other ten members from different apex clubs.

OBJECTIVES

  • To establish health centers and Medical Clinics.
  • To provide vocational training and education by establishing Education and Technical Institutions.
  • To undertake relief and rehabilitation work during natural calamities and disaster.
  • To take active interest in social welfare of the citizens without discrimination of caste or creed.
  • To establish funds for financing welfare projects for citizens of Bangladesh

MEMBERSHIP

Any member (active or retired) of any Apex Clubs of Bangladesh or their spouses 2000.00 a lump sum can be a Life Member of the Foundation. At present there are 662 Life Members in the Foundation as on 31-12-2014.

A person on payment of Tk. 15,000.00 or more may be admitted by the Manage- ment Board as Patron of the Foundation. Management Board may also admit any person of high standard or person rendering extraordinary service to Foundation as Patron. At present there are 94 Patrons in the Foundation as on 31-12-2014.

MANAGEMENT

The affairs of the Foundation are managed by a Management Board and the term of which is two years. The Management Board consists of the National President, National Vice President, IPNP, and Life Governors of the National Association of Apex Clubs of Bangladesh and IP Chairman of Foundation as Ex Officio Members and Ten Board Members of the Foundation elected by the Life Members in an Annual General Meeting of the Foundation.The Management Board further consists of Chairman, Vice Chairman, General Secretary and Director Finance as Office Bearers and Executive Members. The office bearers are elected by the Management Board in its first meeting among its members. Election of Members for Management Board is held once every two years at the general body Meeting.
